Hilde specializes in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, advising in the field of privacy and advising and litigating in the field of (soft) intellectual property law. She assists clients in matters such as trademark, trade name and copyright disputes and also advises on agreements in which intellectual property plays an important role. Advice in the field of privacy includes all aspects that are (or could be) important to a company, especially since the arrival of the GDPR also an important aspect in many agreements. Work experience Hilde started as a lawyer in 2000 in the litigation section of the international law firm NautaDutilh, where she soon made the switch to the intellectual property law section. There her love for the law profession developed rapidly. In 2004 she continued her career at the Rotterdam branch of the English firm Simmons & Simmons. After a trip to Belize, Central America from mid-2006 to the end of 2007, she started working at Van Steenderen Mainportlawyers. In 2009 Hilde made the switch to business and worked for Biomet Europe BV for many years; after the merger in 2015, it became Zimmer Biomet. In these years Hilde ran a law firm in addition to her work as a corporate lawyer and supervised several students during their graduation. After business, she returned full-time to the legal profession at Kneppelhout & Korthals Advocaten in Rotterdam, and since June 2018 she has been running her own office. Memberships PTMG Intellectual Property Association (AIPPI) Copyright Association (VvA) Pharmacy & Law Association VIEPA Education Hilde studied Tax Law at Erasmus University (2000); In addition, she studied Dutch law at that university, specializing in Corporate Law and Private Law (2002). In 2014 she successfully completed the NGB Professional training for corporate lawyers and in 2017 the Grotius specialist training National and International Contracting. In 2020 Hilde successfully graduated from S.K. Martens Academy (intellectual property law), and in 2021 she successfully graduated from the Grotius specialist course in Privacy Law. Lawyer for the Class Hilde also shows social commitment; this is apparent from her contribution to the Junior Jurist Academy. As “Lawyer in front of the class” she and the academy gave a workshop to group 8 about law in general, from the rule of law to fundamental law. The students, including her eldest son, were then given an assignment to study a specific case for several weeks, which was based on a "real" case. After the preparation, the children were allowed to work as lawyers, judges and public prosecutors themselves in a "practice court". ‘It was wonderful to see that the students became increasingly enthusiastic, asked questions and showed commitment. This is definitely worth repeating!'
