Announcement - New member of the Lawyer Network in New York

The Lawyer Network is delighted to announce that Maria E. Celis of 'Neville Peterson LLP' has joined the Lawyer Network. Maria has joined the Lawyer Network as our exclusive Trade & Customs member in New York.

Maria E. Celis is a partner in the New York office of Neville Peterson LLP and practices in the areas of international trade, Customs, export law, and other federal regulatory matters. She is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Federal Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States Court of International Trade, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Ms. Celis has been asked to speak before the Mediterranean Anglo American Business Network (MAABN) in Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, France; the Midwest Global Trade Association (MGTA), in Minneapolis, MN; the Heartland Shippers Conferences in Minnesota, Missouri, and Iowa; and the Xinji Chamber of Commerce in Hebei, China, on such issues as Exporting and Business Strategies During a Recession, INCOTERMS, Free Trade Agreements, Essential in Commercial Contracts, and Payment Terms in International Commercial Contracts.

She interned with the Delegation of the European Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and worked for Honorable Donald C. Pogue at the United States Court of International Trade. Ms. Celis writes regularly for the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI) for their weekly Customs and Trade case column. Ms. Celis represents domestic and foreign firms and corporations with regards to various Customs and trade issues, including classification, valuation, country of origin, marking, drawback, and intellectual property, as well as export regulation and international contracts.
