Announcement - New member of The Lawyer Network in China

We are delighted to announce that Joseph Simone of 'Simone IP Services' has joined The Lawyer Network. Joseph has joined the network as our exclusive Trademark member in China.

Joe Simone is the founder and a Director of SIPS.


Joe has advised companies on the protection of their IP rights in China since the mid-1980s.


Joe publishes frequently on IP topics in China and contributes regularly to position papers on legislative reforms issued by trade groups and professional associations.


Most recently, Joe's association and publishing work has focused mainly on online counterfeiting and bad faith registration of trademarks in China.


Joe has served on various committees of the International Trademark Association (INTA), including the China Subcommittee of the Anti-Counterfeiting Committee and the China Task Force. He is currently serving on the TM5 Committee which focuses on trademark office practices in China, Korea, Japan, the EU and U.S.


In the late 1990’s, Joe was involved in the creation of the QBPC and the Global Leaders Alliance Against Counterfeiting (now merged into BASCAP). He served as Vice Chairman of the QBPC for several years and remains active in its Legal Committee and Internet Task Force.


Joe was a partner with Baker & McKenzie in China from 2000 to 2012, and was an associate with the firm from 1988 to 1992. From 1992 to 2000, he was a partner with Johnson Stokes & Master (now Mayer Brown JSM).
