Qatar Rail has chosen seven law firms to sit on its legal panel.

Seven law firms have been chosen by Qatar Rail to be on its first legal panel after fifteen firms applied. The chosen firms are White & Case, Al Tamimi, SNR Denton, K&L Gates, Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, and Mubarak Al Sulaiti. The firms will sit on the panel for two years.

Commenting on the panel appointments, Qatar Rail acting general counsel Rashid Al Saad, said: “We’re delighted to have commissioned firms with efficacious, trustworthy legal expertise, as well as strong ties to the construction and transportation industries. We placed great emphasis on delegating firms who share Qatar Rail’s genuine commitment to facilitating the prosperity of Qatar.

“We looked for firms that possessed a wealth of GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) knowledge, who could also provide essential international experience to projects that will facilitate the improvement of Qatar’s transportation infrastructure throughout future generations.”

Other Qatar Rail projects include the West Bay Transport System, the Lusail Light Rail Project, a comprehensive network dedicated to Lusail City with connections to the Doha Metro, and international passenger and freight rail lines, offering high speed services to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
