Published: Friday, September 20, 2013

The Lawyer Network is delighted to announce that Michael A. Cantor of 'Sheley, Hall & Williams, P.C' has joined the Lawyer Network. Michael has joined the Lawyer Network as our exclusive Corporate IP member in Connecticut.

For more than two decades, Michael Cantor’s unwavering commitment to delivering the highest level of legal services at exceptionally competitive rates has fueled Cantor Colburn’s strategic expansion from a ten-lawyer firm into the nation’s seventh largest intellectual property law firm. Today, Michael oversees more than 110 attorneys, patent agents, and technical advisors who help a diverse client base of international innovators make the most of their IP assets.

Michael couples his technical training in chemical and materials engineering with more than 25 years of experience as an IP attorney to help Fortune 50 corporations, universities, tech start-ups, and mid-sized companies develop and carry out targeted IP strategies that fulfill their needs and objectives in a complex global economy. A noted thought leader who regularly speaks and writes on IP-related topics, Michael has taught patent law and procedure at the University of Connecticut School of Law for nearly twenty years. Appointed by Governor M. Jodi Rell to the Connecticut Development Authority board, Michael was named to the Board of Directors of Connecticut Innovations by Governor Dannel P. Malloy after the two groups merged in 2012. In 2013 Gov. Malloy appointed Michael to serve as the Chairman of Connecticut Innovations.
