Law Firm Glikman & Partnerid and Alvin Rödl & Partner Law Office have come to the mutual agreement to merge.

Law Firm Glikman & Partnerid and Alvin Rödl & Partner Law Office have become Law Firm Glikman Alvin & Partners after merging. The new firm is one of the largest in Estonia and has two offices based in Tallinn and Jõhvi. The firm is made up of more than 40 lawyers and attorneys at law.

The partners of Law Firm Glikman Alvin & Partners are Leon Glikman, Ain Alvin, Mariana Hagström and Toomas Tamme, all of whom are also members of the board. Also Kairi Kurisoo and Triin Biesinger-Jussmann continue as partners and Aleksandr Glikman who has 60 years of experience in practising law will also continue to counsel clients.

According to Leon Glikman, partner of Law Firm Glikman Alvin & Partners, the strength of the merged firm is most of all cross-generation counselling experience. “Both our firms were among the oldest in Estonia, while our current and future potential partners include several outstanding attorneys from younger generations. The market needs highly specialised top attorneys with long term experience, which requires a large multifunctional firm,” Glikman said. He added that the firm is planning to strengthen business counselling and international cooperation.

Ain Alvin, partner of Law Firm Glikman Alvin & Partner, said that the merger will establish a large full-service law office with competences in all major fields, including criminal defence. “The key personas of the merging law offices know each other rather well and the merger was a natural development of matters,” Alvin said.

The combined turnover of the merging firms exceeded EUR 4 million in 2011, which places Glikman & Alvin among the top five largest law firms in Estonia.
