Published: Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Hertfordshire-based SA Law and Pickworths have merged to form a 15-partner firm to boost their presence in the region.

SA Law wil be the new brand for the Firm. The merger increases the legacy firm’s turnover by 23%, with a combined turnover of £6.6m.

The combined firm will operate out of SA Law’s existing premises in St Albans. All the staff from Pickworths’ existing offices in Hemel Hempstead will relocate to SA Law’s office on the town’s London Road.

Commenting on the merger, SA Law managing partner Steve Ryan said: “What the two firms share is a common culture, a dedication to technical excellence and high standards of client care: SA Law is Lexcel-accredited, underlining its commitment to the highest management and customer care standard. Pickworths also has a long-established reputation for legal and client service standards, having been accredited as an investor in people for over ten years.”

Ryan also said that the merger would help expand the firm’s overall offering in the Hertfordshire region and beyond.

He said: “The merger expands the range of services available to clients from local and regional-headquartered businesses, banks, property developers, retailers, charities and schools to individuals in the region.”

SA Law was first established in St Albans in 2005, while Pickworths has been practising in the Hertfordshire area for around 40 years.
