Announcement - New member of the Lawyer Network in Germany

The Lawyer Network is delighted to announce that Johann Pitz of 'Vossius & Partner' has joined the Lawyer Network. Johann has joined the Lawyer Network as our exclusive Patents Law member in Germany.

Johann Pitz, born 1960 in Munich, became a partner of the firm in 2001. With his background of many years of practice as patent litigator in Düsseldorf he established the legal patent litigation department of the firm. He has been admitted to the Bar since 1991 and counsels in a team with patent attorneys German and international clients in patent disputes. As a litigator before German civil courts and the Federal Patent Court, Johann Pitz was also involved in a number of cross-border proceedings and leading cases such as "Coffee Pads", "Paroxetine", "Enalapril" and "Clinical Trials II".

Johann Pitz is member of the Patent Law Expert Committee of the German Intellectual Property Association, the International Bar Association, AIPLA, AIPPI, GRUR and is registered as a mediator (DAA) with the General Council of the Bar, Munich. He is a regular speaker on IP conferences in Germany and abroad and is author and co-author of numerous publications concerning patent enforcement, including Beck's practitioner handbook "Patentverletzungsverfahren" (Patent Litigation Proceedings) and the Munich Attorney's Handbook on IP Protection. Before his admission to the Bar he completed his judicial studies with a Ph.D. (Dr. jur.) and was research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for foreign and international Patent, Copyright and Competition Law and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
