Berwin Leighton Paisner launches Dubai office

Published: Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Berwin Leighton Paisner has opened an office in Dubai, its second office in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following Abu Dhabi.

The Dubai office will work closely with the Abu Dhabi office and will primarily focus on providing legal services for the real estate sector, mirroring the firm’s offering in Abu Dhabi. The firm first launched in Abu Dhabi in late 2008.

The new office will be headed by real estate partner, Mohammed Kamal, who joined the firm from Hogan Lovells in Dubai in February 2011.

The main target clients of the firm in the region will be developers, investors, funds, financial institutions and government bodies in the real estate industry.

BLP’s managing partner Neville Eisenberg said in a statement: “Having an office in Dubai is an important part of our long term strategic plan for the Middle East and the development of our international footprint.”

In addition to expansion in the Middle East, the firm is also in the process of opening up an office in Beijing. The Beijing initiative is led by the firm’s former chairman Peter Robinson.
