In recent years, in line with Singapore’s move towards a digital economy, the usage of electronic signing in documents has become more prevalent. The COVID-19 pandemic and various circuit breaker measures have further accelerated this move towards digitalisation. In this webinar, we will share with you, amongst other things, the legal framework for the recognition of electronic signatures in Singapore, the extent of such recognition, the risks associated with electronic signing, and the practical steps that you can take to mitigate these risks.

Xiaomeng’s practice is focused on corporate finance, M&A and general corporate advisory. Before joining CNP, she started practice in a leading corporate law firm in Singapore. Sharleen Eio is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team and Professional Liability team. Sharleen has experience in a wide spectrum of legal advisory and disputes work, with a focus on civil and corporate commercial litigation. She has advised and represented a number of international companies and high net-worth individuals in complex cross-border disputes. Her experience also includes regulatory and investigatory work and employment law. A firm believer in giving back to the community, Sharleen has also worked with the Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics to advise and represent migrant workers on a pro bono basis.

Senior Associate

Hazel is a corporate lawyer in our Corporate Advisory team. She is admitted as a Barrister-at-Law in England & Wales and as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. She has over 10 years of experience working in-house and in private practice. Her main areas of practice include cross-border M&A, joint ventures, private equity and general corporate advisory. She has advised various companies ranging from tech start-ups to blue-chip MNCs and was previously lead in-house counsel for the Brunei Ministry of Defence on international public procurements.
