Announcement - New member of the Lawyer Network in England

The Lawyer Network is delighted to announce that Tim Wright of 'Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP' has joined the Lawyer Network. Tim has joined the Lawyer Network as our exclusive Outsourcing Law member in England.

Mr. Wright is Managing Partner of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman's London office and serves as London leader of the Global Sourcing practice.

Whilst his practice has a strong focus on outsourcing and offshoring projects, he has a broad range of experience, which includes corporate and commercial transactions, and regularly advises on joint ventures and strategic alliances, acquisitions and disposals, and shareholders' agreements as well as complex sourcing projects, technology transactions (including e-commerce), web hosting, software development and licensing, system integration, and privacy and other compliance issues.

Mr. Wright acts for both customers and suppliers in outsourcing transactions in both IT and business process outsourcings. Mr. Wright's clients include pharmaceuticals, telecoms, information services companies and financial institutions, with a particular focus on UK insurers; and he has represented financial services groups such as Old Mutual, Abbey Life, Royal & Sun Alliance and Prudential on their IT and business processing outsourcing agreements. Recently Mr. Wright represented a supplier in negotiations for a global benefits management outsourcing agreement for a pharmaceutical customer. Other notable transactions include:

 •representing GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) on the negotiation of global master services agreements covering three distinct facilities management (FM) service towers. This project won the 2010 European Outsourcing Association's Best Multi-Sourcing Project award;

 •advising GSK on a broad spectrum of IT and business processes including finance & accounting, HR and cloud services;

 •acting for the Inland Revenue on its complex second-generation information technology outsourcing agreement with a consortia led by Cap Gemini and Fujitsu;

 •representing Resolution and the Co-operative Group on the outsourcing agreements for the life & pensions administration;

 •acting for PricewaterhouseCoopers's beTrusted business unit on the provision of outsourced digital certificate processing services and public key infrastructures for banking customers including National Australia Group, Standard Chartered Bank and RBS;

 •representing ENRC on a business transformation project including negotiations with SAP, Deloitte and Accenture;

 •advising Intertek on a multi-tower IT and F&A outsourcing with Accenture; and

 •acting for BMI Bank, Bahrain on a significant bank re-platform project covering system integration and licensing deals with Satyam Mahindra, Temenos and Oracle.

Mr. Wright is a regular speaker at conferences and round tables on outsourcing and related subjects.

Mr. Wright has been admitted as a solicitor for the Law Society of England and Wales since 1994, and has attained Shared Services & Outsourcing Professional (SSO Pro) accreditation from the International Association for Contract & Commercial Management.
